Planet Fitness- Social Listening

 


I chose Planet Fitness for this blog because I have seen posts about new updates for this franchise. It is nationwide, and people are openly excited about the latest openings. The quick updates keep them connected to their consumers, and showed great social networking skills. I am starting this fitness blog post because I want to improve my own fitness, and it's a topic that really interests me. I used to belong to a gym, and I'm planning to join one again soon. I often come across promotions and membership deals for Planet Fitness on Facebook. Their Value Proposition is to provide a unique diverse, judgment free zone where the foundation for a lasting, active lifestyle can be built. 


People are saying there is no pool, but they can go to the YMCA and get a membership which includes access to a pool and gym. They are excited about the convenience of all the locations and the fact that the joining fee is only $1. They are also concerned about their personal belongings being stolen there. Planet Fitness makes fitness accessible to a wide audience by offering affordable rates. Unlike other fitness centers, they not only attract a large and diverse membership base but also encourage long-term

Planet Fitness is using storytelling in all forms of advertising, with inviting new or existing gym-goers to be apart of a non-judgment environment. We as consumers are seeing this message with everything that is associated with this company. E.g, their slogan is "The Judge-ment Free Zone." Again they are using social media best practices by reaching out to all sorts of people, of all sorts of levels. 
In 2021, Planet Fitness demonstrated robust sales and a notable increase in memberships, indicative of enhanced performance. The company appears to be experiencing expansion and overall success, exemplified by their effective marketing strategies that reach diverse target audiences, and the strategic accessibility of their facilities in newly developed properties across various cities. Planet Fitness diligently maintains regular updates and responses, promptly attending to customer inquiries, and consistently advertises the latest openings for both new and existing members.

If I was the brand manager, I would definitely add some color to this design. It looks too bland and dark. It needs to be lighter and incorporate another color to enhance its appeal. Simple is good, but this is just too plain. They have the resources to do something more impactful and concise. Since it is summer, an indoor/outdoor center would be an excellent addition, or they could consider adding a pool and some water exercises.



In this class, I have gained valuable skills such as creating a blog account, exploring in-depth marketing concepts, and conducting a SWOT analysis. I am currently focused on completing the SWOT analysis, and I'm excited to apply these newly acquired skills. Thanks Rob
